So what could a desk jockey like me possibly know about health and fitness? Eh, a couple things perhaps. A brief "fit-ography:" At age 14, I had attained a 2nd-degree black belt in Wado Ryu (Okinawan) Karate, which we called, "The Way of the Dove and the Fist." In high school I led the varsity wrestling team as co-captain and was highly ranked locally. In my 20s, I competed successfully for many years as a drug-free bodybuilder. More recently, I've attained Fitness Trainer certification with the rigorous International Sports Sciences Association. I've studied various martial arts over the years including freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling; judo; Brazilian jiu-jitsu; and street combat self-defense techniques. Most importantly though - my "owner" happens to be a rather large, friendly but "highly insistent" Rottweiler, who makes me walk every day. View Samples |

Ah yes, the fun stuff. Finely sculpted sheetmetal vs. monocoque carbon fiber, forced induction vs. naturally aspirated, Detroit Iron vs. The Imports ... and now, fossil fueled vs. alternatively fueled - the Great Car Questions of our time. I've made something of a career-within-a-career helping readers keep track and make sense of it all. And not just with cars. I'm proud to call myself an "all-purpose Geek" on technical subjects. From exploring the innards of nuclear power plants to explaining style trends among young car enthusiasts, I make it quite clear to readers what the deal is, why they care, and if the tone of the piece permits - I'll even make 'em laugh!
